Tis the season to wrap all the things I canned in preparation to give them as Christmas gifts.
I spent probably an hour and a half at the craft store a few days ago trying to figure out how best to decorate the jars. I didn't want to actually wrap them all in paper. I ended up buying ribbon and a bow-making machine and stretchy round metallic stuff. We cut some squares of Christmas-y fabric, stuck that on the top of the jar and screwed down the band to hold it on, then made bows and tied them to the stretchy stuff. So each jar gets a festive fabric topper, then an elastic holding on a bow. We also printed up some labels to put on the jar with what's inside.
The jars look really cute. I'm totally pleased with how they turned out. They look like an actual nice Christmas gift, not just some random jar.
On another note, when the jars are all together in the middle of the floor in the 2nd bedroom, it looks like we have enough food to get an entire village through the winter. Whoa. And next summer, I want to do more (including tomatoes).
Alright, off to edit Goo Christmas Pictures.
