Um, hi?
I've not been around much lately, my life is just crazy busy. There are not words, honestly. But how are people? What's going on? What am I missing in fandom? Idk, anything, talk to me about frivolous things that don't involve spreadsheets please!
I know one thing that's happening in fandom right now, and it's super exciting, cause triptohere has just started posting her epic story: on knots and unravelling. Seriously you guys, I've had the complete pleasure of reading this as it was being written and I think it's great, the best thing in fandom since the Big Bang. I mean, admittedly, I've not been around fandom for the last one or two months, so ok, I might be missing things, (and if so, tell me, so I can line up more things I'd rather be doing than what I currently am), but THIS IS GOOD. REALLY REALLY GOOD. HAVE I MADE MY FEELINGS CLEAR ENOUGH???
Meanwhile, I've done next to no writing of my own, which is a sad state of affairs really. I have written a small Cook piece which I'll try and find the time to post some point this week once I've done a proof of it. And I started an Alo & Rich best mates thing, but I did about 400 words, and there's no plot, and I don't know if I care. I liked S5, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel particularly ~inspired by it. Maybe we'll see if I get some time to add to it. Also, I've been thinking that it'd be good to get a ficathon going for skins_crossgen but think it might be a bit cheeky of me to not write for it? I don't know if there's even an appetite for it, cause I know that Skins fans had a ficathon going for some time (or is it still on, I have no idea, I've not looked at any of it sadly).
I suppose I should say something about JB leaving as well? Idk. I'm on the whole sorry to see him go. I think that he's crazy, of course, but he has genuine creativity and mental ideas that sometimes go way off the mark (imo of course) and other times hit it square on. I think S5 was a massive improvement on S4, and though I don't know the full story, I think he learnt a lot from S4 and where it went wrong (though publicly he has said he thought it did what they wanted it to, I'm not so sure that's true).
