I want to make skirts... but I have no idea where to begin .__. should I take sewing classes or something? not like I could afford it even if I wanted to... so maybe youtube tutorials? I duno

I sometimes make clothes :D and I really have no idea about real sewing XD Most patterns come with instructions, I think vogue patterns do not. A skirt is the easiest thing to make ever and you will have no problem at all. I'm guessing that it's going to be a lolita skirt ? with a border print like that (so cute by the way!). 3 yards is pretty much the minimum for the bell shape skits but if you wanted it fuller you could just add a ruffled bustle in the back, although a three yard hem is quite a full skirt already.
I really don't think you will have any trouble making clothes :) because you already know how to sew! AND you know how to zippers! Zippers are the worst X(
Yep, lolita! Thank goodness I bought so much @~@ I read on a website that the average for a skirt was around 2, but I bought 3 just in case, and now I'm glad I did!
lol do I know how to sew zippers?!?!!? XD;;; I've only sewn a zipper once (maybe twice..?) but I was just screwing around and eventually found something that worked LOL

The first one will definitely be very handy :9 I'm so ashamed to say it, but I really don't know much of anything about real sewing either ;__; I regret not taking sewing classes back when I was in high school, because then I'd at have a general idea of where to begin! x_x;
and that burdastyle site is amazing! I've really fallen in love with the Linda 8164 skirt *_* I wonder if it would be too long for the fabric I bought though? If it is, I will still try to make it, just with different material. I loooove long flowy skirts like that ;u;
