So - this week we finally got down to it in therapy. We've tackled the depression symptoms (and I am pleased - VERY pleased to announce that in my latest depression assessment I no longer qualify as "clinically depressed"), we've worked on disputing negative self-talk (successfully I guess, judging by the results), and now we are starting the deep dive - we are starting to talk about the part of me that hates me.
This has, of course, been coming from the first, so I can't say I am exactly surprised by it. It isn't fun - seriously, who would really want to delve into something like this - but at the same time it is necessary, and I feel pretty good about the process even if it isn't particularly enjoyable.
This week my task is simple - try to put a shape to that part of me. Try to draw it, envision it, commune with it.
Ick.
But, if it helps me get better, that's what I should be doing. So this week, for your enjoyment, I present an art exhibition entitled "The Thing That Hates Me". All this week I will be posting whatever I come up drawings, poetry, maybe poetry and a drawing, whatever I feel like making.
