Medicare buy-in dead?

Dec 14, 2009 18:03

According to NPR the Democratic Caucus appears to have agreed, following their meeting this afternoon, to drop the provision for Medicare buy-in from the health care reform bill.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and most of all Senator Joe Lieberman for their tireless efforts at bipartisan politics over the last year. Never has a party as thoroughly beaten and demoralized as the Republicans following the 2008 election been so thoroughly and completely revitalized in so short a period of time. Bravo!

I would further like to encourage Mr. Lieberman to continue holding the threat of a filibuster over Harry Reid's head until such time as Reid publicly suck's Lieberman's balls on the floor of the Senate while on live television.

Because everyone in America now knows that he'll do it.

Yes we can, America. But we won't.

Edit: here's the story.
