Long term campaign - help me with ideas and motivation

This is one of my first stabs at a poll.

I have been unhappy with my gaming recently, and have been yearning for a long-term campaign.  I thought today that it might be interesting to have people who read my livejournal help focus my energies on an actual task to help with this.  So I thought of putting up a few polls like doccross  does.

Poll Long-term campaign setting

It seems to me that having other people helping to supply input will help take my brain down paths that it might not otherwise take, which might help with my motivation and creativity.

To help me focus, I decided to concentrate on published setting ideas rather than try to make something up on that level.  I'm generally not all that good at making up worlds from whole cloth.  Rather I am pretty good at personalizing other people's stuff so that it becomes mine.

For this poll I am only talking about the setting, not the system.  So for example if you vote for "Traveller, New Era Regency" you are only voting for a campaign set in the Spinward Marches during the early New Era, you are not voting in favor of the TNE mechanics.

I have no idea how many people might be interested in voting in my poll.  Note that voting does not comit you to actually playing in any sort of long term campaign that I might come up with - I'm just asking for your help with ideas, not trying to gather a gaming group together at this point.  So if you are reading this it is totally OK if you vote, even if you have no intention (or time) to play in any long-term campaign I come up with.  Heck, the post is public, so if you just happen to stumble across it, feel free to vote anyhow!

I'll close the poll in a few days.  Depending on whether there is a clear winner or not, and on the level of participation, I may have a run off between the top two before moving on.

If, for some reason, you cannot actually vote in the poll, then simply leave a response with your selection in it.  That works just as well.

Thanks in advance for your participation!  Vote early and often!
