As seen on jassyskie's LJ.

01. Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
Yes, unfortunately. Favorite snack? It depends. Sometimes it's something salty/crunchy, sometimes it's chocolate.

02. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
I mark the books we're reading in our reading group so I can look up recommendations from other members, or I'll paraphrase some points raised in our discussions. I like buying used books with markings/notes in them. But for the most part, no, I don't mark/write in books.

03. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open? Bookmarks, index cards, receipts, empty envelopes, post-it notes, piece of yarn, anything close by.

04. Fiction, Non-fiction, or both? Mostly fiction, but a healthy dose of non-fiction too.

05. Hard copy or audiobooks? Mostly hard copy, although I do enjoy audiobooks. I like to listen to an audiobook as I'm cleaning or puttering around the house, and I sometimes listen to audiobooks on my iPod when I can't sleep.

06. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point? I like to read to the end of chapters.

07. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
Copying Jassy here - I usually try to figure it out based on the context.

08. What are you currently reading? Oh, dear. Well, it's a long list because I tend to have several books going at one time. Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs; Handle with Care by Jodi Piccoult; Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs; Swordplay edited by Denise Little; and several knitting books whose titles escape me. Let's not talk about the many magazines that are lying around, half-read...

09. What is the last book you bought? Oh, holy crow...I had two bookstore wallows on my way back from Delaware. Let's see...The Knife of Never Letting Go by...uh...dang. Will have to look that one up.

10. Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time? See #8.

11. Do you like re-reading books? Oh heck yeah. I can't tell you how many times I've read To Kill a Mockingbird, The Sparrow, Dead Until Dark, Salem's Lot, The Stand, Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, and so many more. Yes, I'm nuts, but that's okay.
