Okay, so I am now unemployed, which will be terrifying just as soon as it hits me that I'm not on a long weekend. It's not like I've been working all that much (16 hrs/week for the past several years), but I'd been at that job since 1999. I was unemployed was when I was 31, too.

OTOH, I was the thinnest I've ever been since college when I was 31, mostly because I was unemployed.

Congrats on being unemployed! That means you are just that much closer to being a teacher. Now, if your placement office could get their act together and actually notify you of your placement, that would be good.

(Do me a favor, and reassure me in one year when you're in your first year teaching and when I'm unemployed in order to student teach, that it will all be okay?)

Let's hope you have an easier time finding a placement than I have! But I bet it'll be okay anyway. Probably. I'm almost sure. Goldarn placement office.

Congrats, and good luck! I have been followin LJ only spottily so now must read back to sort out what's happened.

I'm still confused about the idea of you teaching math and not English!

Yeah, well, what can I say? The idea of trying to explain tone and symbolism to teenagers fills me with dread (possibly not helped by having a viscerally bad reaction to most discussions of tone or symbolism) -- but why all square numbers are the sums of sequential odd numbers? Fun!
