How I spent the last Friday

Firstly, a big thanks to beloved4always for your festive greetings!

How do you know you need a holiday:

1. You go to work and knock off the same time, but you're getting less and less done.

2. You're sick of your colleagues and the snark quotient in your exchanges makes physical retaliation really attractive.

Yesterday I decided to test out a DVD rental shop at a mall near the office. It's S$3 (about US$2) for 3 days and the selection is pretty decent so I rented the Grudge to try out. The good thing about working in a TV production company is there is equipment everywhere to play all sorts of media formats. Come 8.00pm and everyone including my boss had left except me and my Production Manager. So we opened the windows, grabbed our drinks and smokes, popped the disc into the rack and sat down. Here's a selection of our comments during the show:

"Bet that staircase was part of a movable set. Impossible to shoot this with those angles." *long argument ensues in which we miss the most exciting parts*

"I think there was a boom mike in that shot." *rewind to check*

"OMG, do something, you stupid girl! Stake it!!"

"Wrong show, buddy."

"Mis-conti!! It was his left knee, not right!" *rewind again to check*

The show wasn't all that scary. Maybe it's because of our running commentary. But it was stress-relieving, so much so we're thinking of renting another horror-flick next Friday, and inviting the rest of our colleagues for the ride.
