1. I had pho soup at Pei Wei tonight. They're test-marketing it. Not as good as something from a Vietnamese restaurant, but tasty.
2. We bought Rock Band 2 and ported all the songs from Rock Band over so both games are more or less combined. I'm having a great time singing, and I made my avatar into Spink.
3. Echo has a
toy that we bought the day we brought her home because she seemed to like the one they had in the kitty room so much. She has taken to carrying it everywhere (including up and down the stairs) by the feathers with the wand dragging behind her. Sometimes the other cats chase the trailing wand, which seems to offend Echo.
4. Speaking of Echo, she had explosive diarrhea in four rooms (yes, FOUR ROOMS) last night. Fortunately, we don't seem to have had a repeat of this problem again today.
5. I'm pretty much convinced that Root is at least half Maine Coon and is going to be huge. My proof is the
pointy ears, the ear tufts, the "mane" starting to grow around his neck, his coloring, the fact that he
uses his front paws (not claws, paws) to hook things and manipulate them, his trilling high-pitched meow (seriously, he sounds just like Spink), his interest in water, and the the fact that his tail is longer than Barbossa's and he seems to be hell bent on growing into it. He's seriously four months old and almost as big as Spink. All he lacks is the medium-to-long fur or I'd call him full-blood Maine Coon.
6. I have an article I need to translate from French by around Friday.
7. I finally slept last night for more than five hours. I suppose this should be higher on my list of random facts since I had had five hours of broken sleep or less for the ten nights prior to that and it was really showing in every way.
8. I baked cookies last night to bring in to school today. I will have to do that more often as it keeps cooling down.
9. We're almost back to "it's safe to open a window" weather here in Phoenix. Another three weeks or so and I'd say we'll be there. I am also ridiculously excited about the Equinox coming up, as it means that we're entering the half of the year where the days are shorter than 12 hours.
10. I've been watching Criminal Minds on
surfthechannel. It's interesting and just the right level of creepy. It is also not setting off any anxiety or panic attacks, which is great.
11. School always seems to be better for me than summer. I attribute this to spending more time around people I genuinely like (hi grad students).
12. No PFF this week!
13. I am generally busy and stressed as those who talk to me frequently have probably guessed, but I'm also finding a lot of peace and happiness in my day-to-day life. I suppose that means I'm in a pretty good place all things considered.
Edit: 14. Softball on Saturday!
