Why does my brain hate me?
Well, I finished the first draft of my Harry Potter fic for bigbangbuffet (at approx 75k, I thought I was never going to finish it). I only have about 11k left to write on my original fic. I have the Numb3rs wolf-shifter fic for au_bigbang mostly plotted and ready to start writing as soon as the original fic is finished.I'm nearly caught up to where I want to be. So, of course, another bigbang comes along to tempt me.
crackship_bb is so tempting me right now. I have so many rare, (and non-existing) pairings that I would love to write.
I already have a list of six pairings and about 9 different plot bunnies to try and pare down, in case I do decide to sign up.
***WARNING! MAYBE SPOILERS BELOW THIS LINE***
The front runners, in no particular order, are:
Criminal Minds/Bones (Aaron Hotchner/Vincent Nigel Murray) -- would go au in CM shortly after Hotch signs the divorce papers.(Hailey never dies). Also, would go au before VNM won Jeopardy and, obviously he never dies either. They meet briefly when BAU gets help from Jeffersonian crew. VNM flirts awkwardly, but Hotch is still stinging from divorce and isn't ready to address relationships, let alone his attraction to other men. Mostly romantic fluff with angst and HEA.
NCIS (Tim McGee/Damon Werth) -- Sentinel fusion. Tim is a temporary Guide who doesn't want a full time Sentinel. Werth is a Sentinel who has always had difficulty with his senses and control.
CSI:NY (Don Flack/Adam) -- AU Flack is a small town sheriff, the rest of the team are town residents. Adam is from a
nearby city and moves to the small town in order to hide. At first, Flack is suspicious of Adam's secrets, but then discovers Adam is being stalked and goes all protective. Again, romantic fluff, a hint of angst.
NCIS:LA/H50 (Chin/Nate) -- AU slightly from very beginning. Chin's uncle didn't take the money, and Chin doesn't know who, did but suspects it had to be someone close to him because of how convincing the frame was. When he broke up with Malia she was relieved, not upset. He got reckless for awhile after leaving the force and being shunned by his family and had slept with a male haole tourist. Now that his life is semi-back on track with the 5-0 job and the family the team has created he is trying to be careful again. Unfortunately his one night stand shows back up and happens to be friends with McGarrett. Nate is dealing with the aftermath of his experiences in Afghanistan and the prison, he goes to Hawaii to figure out where he wants to go from there. The reunion with a one night stand he never forgot doesn't go as planned when he realizes Chin is afraid of what his team will think. see above mention of fluff, angst and romance :)
Franklin and Bash (Jared/Damian) -- They have a drunken one night stand. In the morning, they're both mortified and Peter thinks it's hilarious. Six months later, the nasty, UST driven quarreling is driving everyone at Infield Daniels crazy. So they come up with a scheme to trap the two of them together for a week. Um, by now, you know the rest.
In addition, there is another idea for NCIS (Tim/Damon), one for NCIS:LA (G/Eric), one for Midsomer Murders (Troy/character who's name I can't remember right now) Harry Potter (Neville/Charlie Weasley).
Someone really needs to help me figure out how to shut off my brain.
