Where Do They Get the Tires?

Aside from wondering how I was idealistic enough to think that the election would actually be peaceful (see post about only four people being killed on election day), what I wonder is this:
Where do they get the tires? Tires are always the object of choice when something is needed to burn. I would think that tires would be a commodity that should be saved, considering Haiti is not a rich country, and there probably isn't a Goodyear shop around every corner at which new tires can be bought. So from where do all of the tires-to-be-burned come?
