Two Long Years

Aaron entered the MTC yesterday. He'll be serving in the Milan, Italy mission.
School started Monday and I wasn't planning on joining my family in Utah two days later to see Aaron off. But I've been homesick since the end of spring break and Tuesday I decided I couldn't not see Aaron enter the MTC and say goodbye before I don't see him for two whole years.
So I spent 75 bucks on a shuttle ticket and rode down to Utah and back yesterday. I missed all of my classes yesterday, but it was worth it.
We all had lunch at Fuddruckers - Aunt Lizzy & Uncle Dennis came, Daniel, Doug & Julie showed up and we had a good time.
Then we went to the MTC and took about a million pictures and then went into this little devotional thing they do. One of the Mission Presidents and his wife spoke to everyone in there & they showed us a little video. Dad & I kept nodding off (I did get on a bus at 5 a.m. and Dad probably drove the whole way to SLC).
And when that was over everyone had to say goodbye to their missionaries and lots of people were crying. Mom definitely, Dad's face got all red and his eyes welled up; Jeremy held it in really well but you could tell he was sad, & I was definitely teary-eyed. I'm really excited for Aaron, but it's still sad.
The MTC lines up all the luggage of the new missionaries just outside & we saw Aaron's luggage so we all wrote little notes and stuffed them in random places of his suitcase & even took pictures of us doing this.
After that I had to go back to the airport to hitch a shuttle ride back to Rexburg. I wish there had been more time to hang out. But the weather was getting bad and we needed to go our separate ways.
I cried some on the ride back. I was quiet about it though & I was sitting in the back & there weren't many people on the shuttle. This was a better shuttle; more leg room.
I bought some cute cards while waiting in the airport that I plan to send to Aaron later.
I'm still rather homesick.
