Warnings: Akefia's mouth, light shonen ai
Jing got up from the bed, setting the book down as he made his way out to the small kitchen to prepare lunch. He sighed as he went about making a pasta with a simple red sauce and since the other thief was such a meat lover, he decided he would put in chunks of chicken with a light basil and garlic seasoning. He didn't bother making much more than that and when the pasta was ready he went and knocked on Akefia's door.
"Kitty," he teased with a grin, "come eat."
"I thought we agreed not to call each other pet names." The silver haired thief emerged. He really was looking a lot better. His color had returned and he looked less run down and haggard. There was also a playful, dangerous glint to Akefia's eyes. He sniffed the air a bit. "Hnn, Italian. I remember when my host lived there for a short time."
Jing, the much shorter of the two thieves grinned as he placed both hands on Akefia's shoulders and pushed the older thief into the kitchen and down onto the table.
"We agreed to no such thing and even if we did there's nothing stopping either of us from actually saying what we want."
"Fine, have it your way Pup." Akefia took a seat, half glowering at Jing. "You know I can cook for myself right?"
"Which begs the question of why you only eat my food~" Jing replied as he set the bowl in front of the older thief, moving to sit atop the table.
"Hey, if it's offered I'm not gonna turn it down." Akefia ate as he always did, even growling as a cat might while eating. He really doesn't do anything to help with his 'not a kitty' assertion.
Jing watched Akefia eat, chuckling lightly as the "kitty" stabbed the meat more than anything else.
"I take it kitty was hungry," he said off hand.
"Always hungry." This was stated short and clipped. Akefia didn't want to waste time talking when he could be eating.
He rested his chin in his hand as he watched Akefia eat; really it was rather disgusting to watch anyone eat since they always did it with such abandon. Yet Akefia always seemed to eat as if it would be his last meal which in and of itself was a curious matter. "Yes, and I always seem to be cooking."
When you live so long without having food, or being denied it, you learn to eat fast.
"Not my problem. It seems to make you content to do it. So I'll deal with it."
"Oh yes you just suffer through it, my what a brave soul you are to force yourself to eat my cooking," Jing teased as he closed his eyes although that didn't make him less aware of Akefia's movements. He unfortunately was only in his black tank-top and pants as Train had yet to return his jacket to him. Jing really didn't want to have to steal back his own jacket.
"It's not the food I'm forcing. It's accepting kindness from you. It makes me uneasy and wary." Akefia quickly finished his meal, staring at Jing.
"I know I know, because you always wonder what my "actual" motive for being kind to you might be, that at ANY minute I could order you to do something and you would be unable to stop me let alone disobey, blah, blah, blah," Jing opened one eye. "We've been living together how long now and you still don't trust me?"
"Tch, not trusting people keeps you alive much longer." Akefia sat back in the chair and stretched out. "You don't agree with that?'
Jing opened both eyes and grinned. "Now telling you outright wouldn't be fun, you have to earn the answer."
"I don't feel like playing games Pup." Akefia reached out and drank a bit of the water in his glass. He then made a face, poured it out in the sink and went to the fridge. That done he filled his glass with his homemade beer instead. All Egyptians' drank beer, young and old. It was safer than water
Jing rolled his eyes not surprised that Akefia went to drink beer instead; really it was sad that the other drank so much plus it didn't exactly help his temperament. Then again Jing hated the taste of alcohol so he didn't exactly think fondly of it.
"I thought you adored games Akefia, what with the whole shadow games."
It wasn't a strong brew, just everyday drinking beer. The kind you'd drink regularly. "I'm a killer not a gamer."
"Well then I bet you're bored since you can't do either on board."
Akefia shrugged, yawning a bit. "I'm growing used to the annoyances of it."
Jing moved to get off the table and took the dishes off as well, headed for the sink.
Akefia drank the rest of his beer and watched Jing move about. "You aren't a half bad cook Pup."
"Coming from you," Jing didn't finish the statement on purpose nor did he let his tone indicate what his statement might have meant, if Akefia wanted to know he would need to find out.
Akefia didn't take the bait, instead closing his eyes and dozing as he sat there.
Jing pulled on Akefia's ear. "Don't sleep at the table it will hurt your back later, go to bed if you want to nap," he stated as he went about cleaning the dishes.
Akefia yelped and attempted to swat at Jing angrily. "Don't touch damnit!"
"I touch you all the time," Jing replied as he grabbed Akefia's wrist, grinning.
Akefia let out a low and dangerous growl. "Stop. Touching. Me." He really did look pissed, and uneasy.
Jing sighed and pulled his hand away, not even bothering to roll his eyes. How typical. He shook his head. "Don't leave the glass in the sink when you're done, put it away," he started to walk away.
"I don't... Let people touch me Jing. Not willingly. Any touch is... Unsettling to me. Even if it does not bring any harm." Akefia stood and went to the sink to clean his glass.
"I've touched you plenty of times," Jing replied. "Are you saying I've forced you all that time?" his eyes narrowed.
Akefia sighed, rubbing at his temple. "Not forced no. That doesn't mean I was thrilled with it. It's how I am. Deal with it or don't."
Jing stopped and turned to look at Akefia. "Deal with it? My isn't that an understatement. You have no clue which is the only reason you say what you do," he hissed.
Akefia turned to face Jing, snarling. "Shut up. You have no idea why I am the way I am! And you don't know... You just don't know!"
Jing grinned, eyes narrowed. "Oh touched on sensitive ground have we? But you're wrong, oh so very wrong, like always. And unlike the others I am not scared of anything you think you can dish out. You're life may have been horrible and so you want the whole world to pity poor sad you. Too bad though, I won't."
"Bullshit I want the world to pity me! I want the world to suffer for what it's done! I want to cast it into eternal darkness! Eternal hell!"
Jing grinned and stepped forward even more. "No you don't, you're too busy whining and moaning about your past, crying out and demanding attention so that people feel bad for you. If you really wanted to put hell on earth you'd stop obeying and break your chains that bind you so tightly. But that one essential fact, that even I could order you around like a dog and you have to obey, remains. I would only have to make my voice harsh enough, cruel enough and you bend your back, bare your neck to me in silent obedience. All your precious pharaoh need do is say "Akefia stop," and you'd stop breathing until he said you could start again because you're just THAT bound. Plunge the world into the darkness? You're beyond delusional, you can't even say no to an order."
"I have done it before and I will do it again! How do you think I got trapped in the Ring? Being the little slave boy? No! I killed hundreds of people. And the Pharaoh's priests! The only reason I failed is Atem sealed our souls into the Items. I to the Ring, and himself to the Puzzle in order to stop Lord Zorc. If these damn limiters weren't in place... I'd find the Items and complete what I started!"
Jing grinned further and took another step closer, his gray eyes held amusement. "Oh is that so? So you think that killing a few hundred is enough to break your chain, makes you a big bad bandit? Well let's put that to the test since you claim you are not bound by it even when we both know you are. Akefia, I order you to sit down," his tone was harsh and contained no room for argument.
"I would of killed thousands had he not of stopped us!" Akefia watched Jing warily, his fingers twitching at the order. "Go fuck yourself!"
"Akefia! I order you to sit. Down," Jing hissed eyes narrowed. If Akefia truly did have the freedom he said he did than it would open such a can of worms, and if he didn't well... the situation was lose/lose and Jing wasn't used to losing, but in this case he'd accept it.
Akefia grit his teeth, clearly fighting not to obey the order even though every fiber of his being was telling him to obey. "I said... fuck… You..." His knees trembled somewhat and then buckled, forcing him to kneel. "Fucking hell!"
Jing gazed at Akefia with something akin to annoyance and he shook his head. "Yes, what a fine example you've proven in having broken your chains. And you think you can plunge the world into darkness," Jing stepped forward and he crouched down in front of Akefia. "At the end of the day you're wrapped up in pretty chains that you just refuse to break cause you're so busy demanding the world to pity you. So long as they exist, you will never succeed in anything." He kissed Akefia's forehead, the action was tender. Whether or not the king of thieves desired it after being shown he was still bound to orders and servitude was not important to Jing as he stood up.
Akefia flinched at the tender gesture, certainly not expecting it. "I... I'll kill you. I swear I will… That will prove I have no chains that bind me!"
"You'll kill me? Why, I wasn't the one that chained you," he stated but he grinned as he helped Akefia to stand. "Oh I see, you'll kill me because I'm trying to break them."
Akefia snarled and lunged for Jing, clearly intent on hurting him. If Jing was smart then he'd take advantage of the fact he was blind on one side. Otherwise he's going to find himself seriously injured. Akefia had thousands of years of fighting practice. And even more styles to use.
Jing may not have had thousand of years but he was also a lot calmer and he was also faster than Akefia. He kept his hands in his pockets as Akefia lunged towards him. When the other couldn't actually stop his attack even for a thief Akefia's face got very well acquainted with the bottom of Jing's boot. Jing set down his leg and was tempted to laugh at the indent of his boot in Akefia's face.
Ah, but even as he was kicked Akefia recoiled, jerking his head to the side to bite down hard on Jing's leg. Hands moved forward to attempt to pull Jing off balance. He ground his teeth into fabric and flesh, tasting his own blood from the kick that had caused his nose to bleed. Yes Akefia was a violent little kitten.
Jing wasn't put off balance however, rather since Akefia seemed so determined to hold his leg Jing would use him as leverage. Arms moving to cross over his chest he moved the other leg and kicked the back of Akefia's knees out, sending him to the floor. Akefia was old in his world to be sure and had dealt with big bad cards and Egyptian spirits, but Jing semi-doubted that a real scarab could compare to a gold bug who liked to eat flesh and human greed.
Akefia was used to fighting his own battles in flesh as well as using his spirit to attack. One just can't simply summon his ka at first. Akefia had to train his body for it. But that was neither here nor there. As he was forced to kneel again Akefia released his mouth's grip on Jing's leg, now determined to head-butt Jing's knee. If he was going to be on the floor then so would Jing.
Jing saw the attack and leapt up using Akefia's shoulders as a vault-board as he flipped over him, now standing behind him. He watched the other, bored. He doubted Akefia would give him a real challenge because Akefia was handicapped from more than just his eye.
Akefia was indeed handicapped. Being blind in that eye made a fight difficult. But Akefia wasn't willing to give up just yet. He wouldn't be satisfied until he'd spilled a bit of Jing's blood.
Jing was waiting for Akefia as he stood behind him, one brow raised in question. He was semi-curious about Akefia's endurance but he wouldn't ask. Plus Jing didn't exactly enjoy fighting in a hallway near his room; he tried to avoid fighting in the room he was staying in.
Akefia growled at him, wiping the blood from his nose. He started to slowly circle around him, looking for an opening.
He sighed; this was just not how he had intended for this day to play out. "Enough already," he sighed scratching the back of his head.
"No. You had to go and push that button. Now you're going to pay for it." Akefia moved slowly closer to Jing.
"Not my fault you have such an easy button, maybe you should put better security around it," he teased. "I could push it again until it's broken would that make you happy?"
Akefia snarled and bared his teeth at Jing. "Try it and I'll rip your throat out once I regain my senses."
"My, my what a feisty kitten, do you act this way with everyone or am I just special?" he teased, not affected by Akefia baring his teeth.
"You're the only one fucking insane enough to push that button." Akefia drew closer, clearly ready to attack again.
"In other words," Jing was suddenly in front of Akefia, smiling as he kissed him before he made to swipe his feet out from under him, "I am special to you~" he teased.
The kiss completely threw Akefia off guard, so he was easy to take to the floor. It was a rather good thing Akefia had a thick skull. That crack was rather loud.
Jing was suddenly straddling him, pinning his hands down. Akefia had weight over him and Jing had no doubt he would use it if he was more coherent. But his eyes narrowed.
"Now listen very carefully Akefia, I will break the chains binding you, and when I do you will finally know freedom. Until then I will never consider you the king of thieves let alone a threat." He kissed him again and then got up and stepped away from the older thief. "Now stop this foolishness, you won't ever be winning against me the way you are now."
Akefia stiffened when Jing pinned him. But he completely relaxed when he was kissed, even submissively kissing him back. As Jing pulled away Akefia shudders and stared blankly at the ceiling, saying nothing.
He gazed at Akefia and shook his head, almost seeing the chains binding him before he went over to the door leaving room and closed the door behind him to walk down the hall and up to the Olympus deck.
