Jul 25, 2008 12:38

Who: Uchiha Sauske Yagami Light and Hitsugaya Ritsuka
Where: Light's room
When: Friday
What: Ritsuka, scared out of his little ear-less and tail-less mind goes to Light for help and council (and cookies of deception)
Warnings: Light's manipulations, Ritsuka's angst

He would see Yagami-san and the older man was calm under all situations. )

One of Light's strongest followers (worshipers?) needed help, and so Light extended a hand, even if it was with hidden ulterior motives. What a good way to secure Ritsuka's loyalty than to give him a hand in his time of need. It would also be a good time to learn more of this 'shinigami'.

Light opened the door upon the knocking. He felt shorter, which was incredibly strange. At least he wasn't female this time. So this was the shinigami, supposedly. Rather short, wasn't he.

"Ritsuka-kun, do come in," Light invited him.

"Ah, thank you, Yagami-san," he kept his head bowed and entered the room.

He took a deep breath and looked up, missing the weight of his ears atop his head. He blinked as he didn't have to look as far up when it concerned looking at him. Well that was odd, in either case Yagami-san was still taller than him.

He didn't recognize the body however.

This was interesting. They were closer in height now, but still a bit of difference between them.

Light closed the door behind Ritsuka. "Take a seat," he offered the couch, "I have milk and cookies, if you would like them." He only really kept cookies for guests. He hated sweets himself.

He sat down on the couch, rubbing his arm and touching the top of his head, expecting it them to be there. He took a deep breath, shivering at the feeling of... well, not needing to breathe.

"Thank you again Yagami-san," he smiled at him.

"Of course," Light said, disappearing into the kitchen. "I wouldn't want a friend who needed help not to get it." He soon returned with a glass of milk and some cookies and set them down on the coffee table.

If he still had his ears they would have perked in interest and he blushed, and smiled.

"Still, thank you so much Yagami-san, I hope your body-switch has been easier?"

"Different but not all too unpleasant," Light replied, taking a sip from the iced black coffee he had been drinking before Ritsuka had arrived. He crossed his legs. "Perhaps yours will become more pleasant, perhaps with the appropriate company the transition will be much simpler."

He sipped his milk, and tilted his head. "Well, you're helping." he smiled, "but I suppose... I suppose I shouldn't be at all surprised that my ears are gone," if he still had them they'd be bent down. "I think it's more disconcerting being a shinigami."

"I imagine that is rather unusual to not be human," Light agreed. This is a very odd appearance for a shinigami, unless somehow Ryuuk was a freak of nature.

He took another calm sip of coffee.

"Hitsugaya-san probably has an easier time.... he might be worried about my ears though," he gave a small smile, sipping his drink again. "It's odd, by habit I'm breathing but... but inside I know I don't have to, does that make sense? He wiggled some fingers. Being taller doesn't hurt though," he rather hoped Light caught the joke for what it was.

A soft grin crossed Light's face. "Can't say that I've grown accustomed to being a few inches shorter," Light shot back. He wasn't fond of being shorter, a few things were just out of his reach. "Regardless, if tradition holds true, it'll be over in a week."

He chuckled, smiling as he sipped his milk again. "I can't believe that this has happened again," he sighed and pulled his knees up to his chest, resting his chin on them. "And I never got to go to the beach with Kio-san..."

"Kio-kun did suddenly disappear," Light noted. "Perhaps he simply left temporarily," he took a sip of coffee. "Regardless, you still have Misa, Mikami, and me. You're never alone."

His eyes widened at the facts of Kio leaving. He... he didn't even know the older man had left! He pulled his knees closer. "He probably went after Soubi..." after all, Kio was Soubi's friend so it would make sense. He took a deep breath, hearing Light's words and desiring to take heart in them. "Yagami-san, do you miss being home?" he asked as he looked at his hands that were not his own.

Light had never told Ritsuka that he died, so lying was in store. No time to make him more emo than he already was.

"I do, somewhat," Light replied. His expression seemed almost nostalgic. In a sense it was, as he was remembering the former glory of the world he had created.

He took a deep breath, he did miss home, but Soubi and Kio had made it easier to realize that not only did his mother beat him but that his brother was not who he had thought he was.

Soubi was gone though.

"I miss my fighter," he whispered.
