I'm alive!

Wow... this has been the fortnight from hell... no exaggeration.

I moved house over the weekend - something I never enjoy because of the sheer quantity of things I seem to accumulate - and everything that could conceivably go wrong, did. After spending three hours sitting on the floor of my new place, awaiting the arrival of my furniture, I got the biggest attitude from the younger of the guys. God knows why, but he spoke to me as though I didn't have two brain cells to rub together - probably because I'm female and he is a throwback to the stone age - despite the fact that I was the one paying him to do the work. And then on top of that I had the great misfortune of being unable to locate the electrical box thingy (anything with knobs or switches causes my brain to go blank) and as a result I was stuck in utter darkness all evening. There is a painful sort of irony to the fact that I was stuck hunting around in the dark for a torch. So I did what any sane and very bored person would do under the circumstances - I called up my friend and she brought over wine and pizzas and we promptly sat in the dark getting drunk and telling ghost stories over candle light. Ah, to be young again!

One very good bonus that came out of it all was that I killed some of those boring hours by writing. I had only a very well worn copy of Pride and Prejudice and a pen and paper to entertain me. Expect three dramione one-shots - the fruit of that labour - to come out of the woodwork very shortly.

In other dramione related news, I've recently joined the very wonderful Hawthorn & Vine archive - a wonderful safe knell for all of us devotees. I've only posted a couple of things there thus far as I've been swamped, but fully intend to get in the swing of it. I've also signed up for their Reverse Challenge as an artist. The fact that I've been without internet for the past fortnight has resulted in me completing three entries already. So yay for that :D

Also on the story front, I've written a new dramione one shot... a bit of a long one actually... and it's currently posted at both FFnet and Granger Enchanted. It's called Hidden Things  and it is HBP compliant. So please check it out and let me know what you think.

As for reading, well I recently started on Sage's epic novel The Fallout and my goodness is that a tumultuous affair. She has my emotions all wrought! Anyway I'm thus far up to about chapter 30 and utterly enthralled - this is a big recommendation for any dramione fan!

I'm going to be going to Europe for five weeks! I can't wait as it's been absolutely ages since I've been there. I'll be in Paris for about 8 days and then spending the rest in Dublin. So I'll be MIA but having an absolute ball :D

So I think that's enough of an update for the moment, I'll be back!

holiday, challenge, stories, dramione
