I love EF- but if you're new to the whole fanfic thing it can be a little hard to track down. I would never have found it except that bewildered put in a note for Prisoners of Love on AO3 that she was updating at EF before there, so I had to go sign up ( Read more... )

I post everything I write to my LJ and AO3, and my spuffy stuff to EF. Beyond that, it just feels like too much effort to keep track of everything! And from what I understand, the best/biggest spuffy audience is on EF anyway. Sorry that's not much help ;)

I post everything (or links to everything) on my LJ and Dreamwidth pages, which are mirrored. I like to let it percolate a bit before posting to the archives, as I invariably make some edits and I'd rather make them once. Then everything goes on AO3. I post crossovers on TwistingTheHellmouth (tthfanfic.org). Spuffy stories that meet the length requirements go up on TheBloodshedverse (bloodshedverse.com), TheSpuffyRealm (http://spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm), and ElysianFields.

LJ, TwistingTheHellmouth, and EF get the most responses, but I think it's good to put things in multiple places. So many great fics disappeared when beloved sites have gone dark, so I'm a great believer in multiple postings for redundancy's sake. I don't recommend fanfiction.net, because they will come through and delete things whenever they feel like it and without warning, which is counter to my belief that everything should stay up always and forever.

Just FYI, EF doesn't have a minimum post length requirement any more.

That is an excellent point - that the more places you've posted, the better the chances the fic will not disappear if/when an archive closes.

AO3, absolutely. Much wider audience, and will in theory always be there. People rarely comment on AO3, but when they do, it's usually thoughtful and polite. Even if they aren't primarily Spuffy shippers. It's easy to post, and easy to read there. Tagging is a hot mess, though, as is searching for something to read if you don't already know exactly what you want ( ... )

I post across a couple of sites too. EF obviously and AO3 because that's basically this fan generation's ff.net and it's a habit. I don't think the Spuffy fandom is particularly strong there, it's mostly newer fandoms that hang out there, but it's a habit for me to post there, from back when I was in a different fandom. I do get some really gorgeous reviews there though, so it's not dead by any means and AO3 seems to be the future of fic for the time being.
I also post on Tumblr, because I have a lot of friends on there and it's basically my means to let them know I've posted on either site. It's not a great place for finding fic though. I will probably start posting to LJ too, once I start writing fic again.

I started posting on Bloodshed Verse and always update there. AO3 is good - the reviews always seem to be thoughtful and not the "why isn't there more sex?" type. Also post on FF and feel that a lot of the readers are younger. Update my LJ journal and EF, obviously. Oh and I have posted on Spuffy Realm but have the feeling I am very behind in posting updates to some stories.
