i spent two weeks in seoul when i was 15 and survived on a diet of wheat thins and twizzlers. at the time, kimchi was the most vile, stinkiest vegetable i'd ever seen in my life, and they were most insistent on serving it with EVERY MEAL. i think i would actually like it now, but back then, i was thoroughly grossed out.
they also served us daily boxed breakfasts of cupcakes and cold french fries (we stayed at the olympic park hotel, and they catered breakfasts for us.) at the end of the trip it was discovered that this was what the caterers thought americans ate for breakfast every day. they thought they were serving us a real american breakfast! it was awesome.
I think she mentioned something once in her journal about having a tripod that she carried around. She does have some great self portraits. Mine never come out that good because the only tripod I have ain't a massive thing that I'm not going to bother carrying around. I really need to find some extremely compact tripod... don't we all. :)
