Ohayocon and other stuff

Ohayocon was a blast. The weather for the drive too and from was perfect. Admittedly, I had a panic attack about 25 minutes before getting into Columbus and that sucked (driving in big cities scares me so bad). But the rest of the weekend was awesome. Nobi looked adorable in the costume that I made for her. My costumes went over really well too. I was God Tier Dave from Homestuck on Friday, and then I was Steamstuck!Kanaya (Homestuck) on Saturday. And EVERYONE loved my steamstuck dress. I had people come up to me and tell me that even though they absolutely despised Homestuck and everything related to it, they couldn't help but love my dress. That made me feel absolutely fantastic. Like, I haven't felt that good about a costume in years.

I was a Craftsmanship judge this year, and that was a lot of fun. Its also the reason why I didn't catch con plague this year, since I was cloistered away from the crowds most of the con. But the kids were cool, and my fellow judges were awesome. Picking winners was difficult.

I also met a bunch of really cool people while waiting in lines for stuff. All of the Homestuck cosplayers I met and chilled with were the sweetest people. I also met a couple of people who follow me on Tumblr, and that was awesome. Can't wait to get the photos back from the con.

The future is packed with more sewing. I -think- Jess and I have an AA table at Tekko this year. And then the weekend after that is Iron Seamstress over in Midrealm (SCA). Iron Seamstress, btw, is a competition to finish a whole outfit, from the skin out, (any SCA time period), in 18 hours. Team Vixen (our team), is doing Late-Period Elizabethan. Because we're insane. The dress is for me this time around, so I'm even more excited. Now to choose colours and trims. >:)
