Marcon
So, some things changed for Marcon, most of them for the better. Nutmeg has decided to come along, which will be nice as it means someone to help with gas costs, and also just someone to drive with. It turns out that we actually have off of work that Friday anyway, so we won't have to use any of our vacation time for this convention. The other major change is that Nutmeg and I decided to go ahead and get a hotel room at the con since they were so cheap. Originally we were going to stay at a friend's apartment nearby, but we both decided we didn't want to have to worry about driving back and forth each night / be bound to essentially one person's will/schedule.
Having the room is actually kind of a relief, since I'm going to be wearing some rather heavy costumes (The Tudor gown, and the Elenor di Toledo gown among others), and I'm going to want to be able to change. I also want to be able to have a few drinks, so I really don't want to have to worry about driving. ^_^
I'm thinking of possibly entering The Beast (the Toledo gown) into the craftsmanship, but I'm so uncertain. I think I technically qualify as a journeyman, but I feel that compared to some of these people, I'm just not good enough. ^^;;;; This is a whole different ballgame from anime competitions. The guidelines they use for judging, for instance, are very different. Might be fun to try anyways.
