That wish list thing...
~* Make a post to your LJ with a list of twelve holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and interest-related ("I'd love a icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for new stamp sets") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
~ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
~ Surf around your LJ to see who has posted a list. And now here's the important part:
~ If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
~ You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy.
~ There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Most of my real wishes are either snarky (i hope this relative isn't completely crazy, and doesn't ruin Christmas) or Things that are mostly up to me (improved health, more patience, etc. another baby) So i'll try to stick with the spirit, as well as provide a semblance of a usable list.
1. Music (CD's) that I've lost through numerous moves and ex-roommates over the last 2 decades. My amazon list has most of them. "elxiii@gmail.com" Also, new is good too...
2. Comfort in CT. I'm still quite homesick, and feeling like I don't quite fit in here. it's not individuals as much as it's the weather, social interaction among soccer moms, the drivers, and it's becoming a reluctance to leave the house.
3. Renewed interest in the Cam. between needing babysitters to play, not liking the RP of some members, and lack of anything not-requiem, I've sort of lost interest. But with Mage and/or LOST starting up again, and several folks kind of getting their game back on, I'd like to play in NYC and CT again. I miss the friends i have in the Cam.
4. Lovely things for my feet. Possibly Pedicure gift certs. Fluffy Socks and Slippers. Toe-nail polish. My heels and the balls of my feet are dry and cracked, and i have lotions, but i need non-skid footies and whatnot so i don't goop up my floors. All my skin has been so dry since i moved out of the rainforest, but my feet have suffered the most.
5. I want to see more shows this year... with friends! Stomp!, Blue Man Group, Wicked, Avenue Q, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Stand up Comedians, And i ESPECIALLY want to see plays and performances my friends are in!!!!
6. Puzzles ~ I have renewed an old passion of jigsaw puzzles. I like puzzles of 1k pieces or more: Houses, Buildings, Tapistries, Pretty Patterns, groups of things (like buttons or marbles or spools of thread), Silly things, Mystery Puzzles, etc. Not a huge fan of animals, unless its some thing like rows of black cats, or a polarbear on a white tile floor or something. Also, I'd like a puzzle storage thingie so I can keep it safe from rampaging kitties.
7. More gatherings - I LOVE having friends over. Dinners, hanging out, etc. I'm thinking of starting a board and card game night. e-mail me if you are in the area and want to try this. Monthly? Bi-weekly?
8. The writer's strike to end. From what I've heard, they're not asking for absurd things, and I hope that whomever the studios can see their way to give them royalties for DVD stuff, and that the writer's don't get greedy from frustration. The abrupt season ends of many of my favorite shows has SUCKED.
9. A new tattoo. I'm ready. it's time.
10. A tank that doesn't kill fish. Matt and I have struggled with our tank. we currently have 2 tetras. i fear getting new fish because our tank kills everything. On the flipside, Allie's Goldfish Tank is doing super. Maybe we just need a cabinet to put the tank in so it stays darker.
11. A bajillion (or one) new techie toys: a Blackberry/Treo type device, a PSP, That computer Pen Thing, R2D2 Robot, The Gamer Keyboard with Warcraft Attachment, a New Computer (Spec'ed for Games), A Portable DVD Player for trips, Funky Speakers or those dancing Animals for my IPod, Rock Band, etc.
12. I want my Xbox360 to come back and never go away again. (Stupid red rings)
