The other day my macbook pro's display never turned on from being asleep. I tried somethings and no luck. Called up apple and ended up having to take it to a store. Luckily I have two apple stores really close to me. Took it in, the guy tried somethings too, no luck. Ended up being a logicboard failure (aka, has to do with graphics card in the end, so hence to display.)
Even though it is two years old, this was a problem that was covered by the logicboard people. Yeah! So I was only with out my mac for like a week, luckily I've two laptops (I'm a com. sci. person...). Got it back and it worked and the hard drive wasn't affected so I was all good. And they replaced my optical drive and battery all for free!!!!!
BUT, today, like not even two weeks later, my display turned off while surfing the net. Looks like the same thing most likely. It makes the noises like it's turning on but no picture. It's really annoying cause this was just fixed and the brand new piece already failed. Sadly, it's late so I can't call and there store doesn't have any openings for having it looked at within the next few days. Luckily almost everything is backed up save a few things I can find again.
And please no one mention, haha mac people. This is a hardware failure and doens't have to do with the Mac OS. :D
I feel as though they'll replace the logicaboard again and I'll end up buying a new mac anyway. : / I just want to be sure everything could be migrated over to the new one without lossing a thing.
And on top of that, my cartilage ear piercing that is 1.5 years old is really irritated and I don't know what to do. Can't see the doctor for a week and a half. : /
In good news, it is the weekend for me (yeah grad school having less classes) and don't have a lot of homework.
