Paranoid and dumb, a lethal combination

I'm such the dork. So, I saw this weird stuff on one of my bananas, at first I thought it was mold (which I hadn't seen on a banana peel before, usually they turn super brown first, right?). So I looked closer, and it appeared to be some sort of silky/spiderwebby thing with little spherical, white somethings inside. So anyone that knows me knows the logical conclusion I would jump to (or rather, illogical).

So through the wonders of the internet I was able to freak myself out even more. It turns out that the MOST venomous spider in the world (from South America or something) likes to hitch rides in banana shipments, some of which come to the US. These spiders have actually been found in the banana crates at some US stores! What the crap? And this is coming from a number of different sources.

Some guy in Canada actually found one in his bag 'o bananas, somehow caught it, I don't wanna know how. And then took it to the local Science Museum or something to have it identified. Oh my god, how close that guy came to death! Anyway, he ended up donating it to the museum once they figured out what it was. Holy shit!

And apparently that's not the only spider that looks to do this. One guy found some other kinda spider, can't remember the name, and it actually bit him. Thank goodness it wasn't venomous, but sadly he was allergic to it. But made it to the hospital.

Anyway. This lets you understand a little something about the way my mind works. I ended up throwing the banana away, and then taking the garbage out...

Hm, and I was gonna post some fun stuff here... lame. Again, I'm such the dork.
