Ginny had the right idea. The pond was a refuge from the sun.
She came down the stairs, dressed in ratty old clothes that had been charmed clean one too many times. Perfect for swimming.
She looked ridiculous. Opportunities like these came so rarely, so Ron knew he had to take it.
“You wear rubbish like that when Harry’s swimming with you.”
She ignored him at first, but called back over her shoulder as she stepped out the door.
“No.”
No, he thought, of course…
…Harry was a dead man.
