My mothers biannual trips to India are a mixed bag. On the one hand, my mother is out of the country for anywhere from two to three weeks, meaning I don't have to talk to her, except on the phone. Given the proficiency of my maternal mute button, moving the phone away from my ear is just about as good as tuning her out when she's here.
On the other hand, my mother is an extremely accomplished mother, she cooks, cleans, does laundry and takes care of home expenses quite proficiently. I, on the other hand, hate cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing and finances.
I'm a lazy guy by nature. Those of you who know me know this. I love nothing better than sleeping in 'till the afternoon and then spending the day reading and watching TV. I actually, on days like that, have no problem going without meals, as eating can actually be a bummer. You gotta take time out of your day that you could have spend doing something actually enjoyable. Yes, I've heard all the arguments about how food is a pleasure and whatnot. I say, meh. M-E-H, meh. Clean clothes are nice. But folding and ironing a week's worth of clothes makes me want to go naked more often. And, well, I've done my whole anti-capitalist rant, so, you can see how I wouldn't like dealing with bills.
In any event, I dig life when I can work 8 hours and know the day is over after that. I've got time for a workout, ultimate practice a few times a week, Magic a few times a week, TV in the evening, and weekends with the crew. Life with chores and class sucks.
In the meantime, since I'm back in school, I fully intend to pass on my misery. Therefore, I give you homework:
1. Reading: For those of you who have not read The Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia, they really are as good as us freaks make it out to be. Read them.
2. Practical application: Play a game, card or board variety will do. If you're better than me, you can do a creative RPG.
3. Practical application: Play a sport, we only have a few more weeks of summer-like weather. Use it or loose the tan.
4. Donate to a cause.
5. Extra Credit: Kiss someone.
Allright, you may go back to ignoring me.
