A non-fic journal entry. How novel!

We'll open up with fic though. I'm trying to write. I have about 2,000 words in 1.1 chapters of a new fic that I haven't posted yet, but some of you (who have been participating in fic chats) have seen glimpses of. This is, in theory, a lengthy fic, but I keep waffling on how to structure it, and the characters keep deciding they'd like to be introduced differently, and we'll see what happens. I will start to officially publish it here, once I get further along and know I can actually write the darned thing. Keep your eyes peeled for "Blind," a mystery-spy-thriller.

I'm not going to Hawaii in 2 weeks time. I canceled so that I could use the free ticket next February when I GO TO THE WINTER OLYMPICS IN VANCOUVER FOR THE GOLD MEDAL MEN'S HOCKEY GAME!!! Oh yeah, it cost me most of my current savings, but I got a ticket and lodgings for 2 nights. Now all I need is to book the flight tomorrow when my miles post.

So that's cool.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Work is busy. I spend most days wishing I was independently wealthy. But I'm too grateful for my paycheck, my health insurance, and my pension. So it all works out.

I'm not hated or in the doghouse, which is nice. There's still the whole "going across the ocean" thing for six months to four years, but meh, whatcha gonna do.

The Invention of Lying was funny, and is best appreciated with a beautiful Englishwoman.

Where the Wild Things Are was a fun trip back to childhood.

Star Wars in Concert is cool if you liked Star Wars and like special effects. It's a bit of a waste if you're going expecting a symphony. But it makes an acceptable birthday gift.

How I Met Your Mother is hilarious.

Cobie Smulders ALMOST makes it acceptable to wear a Canucks jersey. I still think she should take it off. Evangeline Lilly has competion as my OTC (One True Canadian).

Also, the show has had, either as regulars or guest stars: Alyson Hannigan, Sarah Chalke, Morena Baccarin and Amy Acker.

I'll be in my bunk.

Hockey season is on.

I can climb and play ultimate.

I have lots of store credit at the card shop.

And I'm discovering again that I'm HIGHLY addicted to Magic.

Life's pretty good.

musings, movies, sailor moon, women, secksay womens, fanfic, sharks, ultimate
