She was such a beautiful tragedy.
She had the kind of smile
That brightens every morning.
She had the kind of smile
That turns anger into laughter.
She had the kind of smile
That makes one move across country.
She had the kind of smile
That makes an eternity of lower-middle class
better than fame, fortune and legacy.
She had the kind of smile
That made it all worthwhile.
But she was
So
Sad
All
The
Time.
And that smile was almost always a lie.
Made up for pictures and pity,
To appease those who didn't know why
Such a pretty girl could be Sad All The Time;
Such a blessed girl could be unhappy
With all that she had.
She chose to be
This Beautiful Tragedy
and I don't want to think of her anymore...
