So... this weekend, in my fits of depression, I did little else other than sleep or read MegaTokyo. For those that knew my previous stance on how I disliked most things anime, this one is probably a bit surprising. Between MT and AppleGeeks, I've developed quite a liking for manga. Don't expect to quell any depression by reading Piro's rants on MT; he's just as irrationally hard on himself.

Oddly, it makes me feel better in a morbid sort of way. His writing is rather sad and he can be a bit depressing, but... It's also good for me in a way. He's just as mopey as I can be and thinks his art blows, yet I can see exactly the opposite. The way he does the eyes just astounds me.

So... in a way, it's backwards encouragement. Maybe my own fussy perfectionist nature is being inordinately difficult on me, as Piro's certainly seems to be on him. The fact that the MT site also has a lot of "coming soon" pages is also encouraging me to get my portfolio site up, even if it is only dribs and drabs for a while.
