Recruiters Not Using Maps or Reading
So I'm thinking I might start a daily tally of the locations of jobs that recruiters send me. keep in mind that my resume notes that the only viable locations are Richmond, VA and, if people want to relocate me at their expense, Raleigh/Durham, NC or anywhere in TN with only 20-25 miles as a max commute. (I may even look at KY for some of the folk that I know there, but... I'm not sure I want recruiters going crazy on that idea just yet.)
Today, I received email for:
Cambridge, MA
Boston, MA (6 mo contract)
Cincinnati, OH
Tyson's Corner, VA
Reston, VA
...and 1 actually in Richmond.
The one for Reston now wins. She called the house and talked to cptwinky. When he said that I didn't want Reston as that wasn't in the area, she got snotty and said that I should change my Monster resume to reflect that. I went to double-check it and all it said was:
Locations: US-North Carolina-Raleigh/Durham-RTP, US-Tennessee, US-Virginia-Richmond
Hmm. I don't see Northern Virginia or Reston listed. Maybe someone needs to learn to read those target locations before getting all huffy.
