Big Ben with Road Rash (to say the least)
So... I hadn't heard the news and a friend was real reticent to give it to me. For Steelers fans:

Sure, if he wasn't wearing a helmet (since that is in some doubt), he was being an idiot -- legal or not, wearing a helmet is a smart idea. After all, I'm sure that windshield was a hard thing to smack with one's face. He'd still be hurt - there's no question of that - but... yeah. -- According to my friend, ESPN is saying on the tv that "besides the broken jaw, he's lost all of his teeth and landed on his knee (so that may be damaged as well)." [[ Yes, this makes it sound like he wasn't wearing his helmet.]]
This could well be one short-lived career for Big Ben.
[[ Update: ESPN has updated their article, which now states more of his injuries and shows the bike as well. While not dead, Big Ben could well be looking for another line of work. Knee injuries are bad enough when they happen on the field. ]]
[[ Update 2: ESPN updated the article again - now noting that they were minor injuries to his knees. If they are minor -- like cuts and scrapes -- it's more likely that we'll see him play again. Possibly not during pre-season or the beginning of the season, but it may not be the end-of-the-career as it seemed before. ]]
