Here there be dragons.

Rather than a thought-provoking post about Memorial Day or a tirade about my work... I'm going to post something completely mundane. When I've not been woken up to go somewhere, I've been sleeping 11-12 hours at a shot. I doubt this is healthy, but I don't much care anymore, either. Also, since I had to stop by the mall for a combination Mother's Day/Birthday present, I managed to pick up the Player's Guide V3.5 for AD&D. I will be ready for the local game. It's been probably a decade since I played AD&D without a computer involved (even if just because it was play-by-email or on a chat-MUSH).

The nice thing about the mall-Waldenbooks (over the huge Borders not far from it) is that there's one very nice, geeky lady that works there. She's helped find good scifi books on occasion, given Star Trek book recommendations, and doesn't give strange looks when someone picks out something from the gaming section. It also helps that she seems to genuinely like working there and hasn't been beaten down into retail-wage-slave mentality.

It's one of those things - along with the recurring dreams of running a bed-n-breakfast or a restaurant - that make me wonder if I've taken a completely wrong turn by going for the corporate-wage-slave route. However, I'm not going to rant about things at work. That vitriol can wait for another day. For now, I have Final Fantasy calling... at least until I hear a louder call from the AD&D book.
