Okay, guys. I've got you on the honor system, so I hope you're being nice:

The granny square bookmark:
This one is made of crochet thread that I had left over from my mom. (She did a lot more thread crochet than I do.) No idea as to who made it. The label was long gone. Very likely, it was whatever Woolworth's was selling at the time she bought it in the 80s when she did a lot of her thread-work. Pattern, by the way, sprang from my head, more or less. Basic granny square stitching was from a Lily pattern, but the rows aren't the same and their pattern didn't include them being stitched together or the borders.

The Pasha Penguin from
Knitty:
This guy was done in Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Black Sprinkes and Ivory Sprinkles (both discontinued) and some odd yellow stuff that I had from my mom; completely unknown already wound in a huge ball. The problem here is that I didn't really check the guage on the yellow, which I think was sportweight, rather than worsted. *sigh* Live and learn. Lastly, he's got black buttons for eyes.
I still think he's cute and I really like the sprinkles of color. However, I did not appreciate working with Wool-Ease for this sort of work. It seems to go fine in the scarf that I've been doing, but for this guy, the guage was tighter and there were new stitches for me to learn (both of which made me notice the problems in this yarn). He's a tad lopsided too, but that makes him a bit more silly.
The usual close-up shot. This one shows off a bit better how too-thin the yellow was... and that I need to work a little more at my sewing. Oops.
