Scarf Redux

Woot. Many thanks to edamame for the hints and links. *dances* I've ripped out the 50 rows that I had done of the original Wizard Scarf that Lion Brand did, mimicking the Gryffindor scarf, mostly because the amount of curling was really really annoying. Since edamame brought to my attention a link to a Q&A, which stated that since it was stockinette stitch, it was going to curl and that's that, I figured that rather than continued to be annoyed, I'd start in on the new pattern that she pointed me towards.

Tonight, I completed 7 rounds in this Atypically.Knit Hogwart's Pattern. Here's what I'm hoping mine will look like when done: Atypically.Knit Gryffindor Scarf. I'm not sure if I'll do initials on it or not - that will depend on if I have enough yarn left for it when done.

This pattern is my first time at knitting with circular needles and it's not that bad. I'm amazed at how easy it seems, once that first row is completed and it is in a definite loop shape. It's much easier to knit in the round than to crochet, I think. It may just be because the knitting seems almost the same once it's going - it's just a stitch on a needle, after all. :)

I'm sure that this pattern will keep me busy for a while. Though, I'm hoping not for too long - I have 3 more holiday gifts to work on before December.
