First Impressions of FFXIII

Bought the game and an HDMI cable yesterday. WOW what a difference that cable made! I crank it up to 1080p, put in the game, and watch the little credits demo thing--and find myself giggling by the end of it when the big title logo comes up. It was pure eye candy. I've gotten to where I enjoy the combat, too. It gets repetitive often--X,x,x,x,x,x,x... And then when you know you've got an enemy beat, but it takes 10 more minutes just to wear its health down. Otherwise, the AI's decent, and the paradigms are almost fun. I know that will change once I have access to more characters at one time. But for now, it's pretty fun.

Sazh: The Unsanitary Afro. (Seriously, you know that bird poops in there...)
Vanille: Shut Up, Already.
Snow: Dork King of Epic Fail (but I like Goober much better.) Or Urahara.
Fang: Rawr!
Hope: Sasuke. Although he's gotten better...
Lightning: Corncob up my butt.
...and then there's Stonewall, Trunks, Boobs, Old Balthier, Buffalo Bill (Silence of the Lambs), and Billy Ray, among others whose real names I can't remember.

Actually, so far Fang is my favorite. I love her character design and her voice for that matter. She's got a great attitude, and she's strong and determined. And unlike Lighting, she seems to keep a pretty clear head. Sazh isn't too bad, either. Lightning's cool, but she irks me for some reason. I kind of hoped that Snow would punch her back. lol.

Haha, I never really thought about that. I'm used to FF's having cheesy music in places. And I'm also pleasantly surprised--considering how upset I was to hear that it was the X-2 team that made this game. UGH. Those girly elements are all still there *glares at Vanille*, and even the fighting style is very similar, but they've given it at least some testosterone. lol. And the Shivacycle...XD And the flaming stiletto Eidelon that I just fought...
