Haven't updated in a while. Oops. I'll post a more detailed entry later about my Thanksgiving trip home (which was my first time back in about a year and a half, actually), which will include tales such as: catching up/joking around with relatives, finally visiting the Winchester Mystery House, seeing Beach Blanket Babylon, and Party in a Cup* with ( Read more... )

Mike and I were going to visit the Winchester Mystery House earlier this year, but both times we drove by it were heavy traffic times and we didn't want to make our commute any longer. :(

Make it out there, if you can. It's rad. I'm going to try to get up there again in June, because they do flashlight tours on every Friday the 13th and that's when the next one is.

I'm actually pretty fascinated... I kept thinking it would be really fun to do a comic about it. Story ideas are already percolating...

Yeah! But they tell more of the ghost stories, I think, more of the lore around the place. Which is what I want to hear.

And you're with like 30 other people, so it's not SO bad. :D

I'm still going to freak out over every little thing; even with 30 other people!

Yeah, I probably will too. But it was only sort of creepy in the daytime. I've also heard it's best to go in the morning and in the fall/winter to get the best tour guides; the people who have been there the longest and really know the place. They get the same turnover in the summer that Kaman's does, like any tourist attraction.

We had a pretty good guide that made plenty of cheesy jokes.
