Back-dated Journal Entry
I went to Erika's apt today. It was a long bus ride- like 1 hr 45 min. though it took me extra time to walk and find the correct bus stop for the transfer. But I passed thru Uptown and by Lake Harriet so it was a scenic ride, and now I know how to get to all these places. John had made some delicious pasta and garlic bread & we watched a Deep Space Nine episode, the one where Quark's mother Moogie dates the Nagus (leader of the Ferengi) Erika showed me her wedding dress- shimmery grayish green- kinda sage- jewelry is all peachy colored pearls, including a tiara! She made me a lovely bracelet to wear at the wedding, wire spirals and orange-red agates.
I also got to meet their Amazon parrot, Rain Man. He's lime green w/ blue accents. E & J are nuts about him! Quite smart- he says OK when he wants to go back in his cage (Which is huge, it takes up half the living room!
Then we went shopping for bridesmaid dresses at Southdale mall. First at JC Penney I tried on a few before settling on a matching blouse/skirt outfit- spring green with pink and orange flowers, a nice light fabric great for the heat. Then we looked for shoes- we're thinking off-white sandals would go well but we didnt have much luck with my obscure shoe size. Looking forward to the wedding! It will be fabulous!
