Moving Update

My mother, with the help of me and my brother finally moved out to Bozeman, MT a few weeks ago. They had to leave 90% of there stuff behind, for 2 reasons- 1) because my parents are living in a small 1-bedroom apartment in the University's family housing til they find a place and 2) because Mom didn't reserve a U-Haul ahead of time, we realized too late they'd be moving the Friday before all the MN state colleges start, so _all_ of the U-Hauls in the Twin Cities metro were taking- the only ones left were the kind you have to drive. So they had to pack up what they could in the tent-trailer and haul that. So I have been boxing up and putting their excess stuff in the garage. It wouldn't be so bad except my mother is an OCD hoarder. We had a garage sale which took care of a lot, and what wasn't sold fortunately there was a neighbor who was raising money for walking in the Susan Komen Breast Cancer 5-Day Walk, and she said she'd take it all, and what she couldn't sell she'd take to Goodwill (which is conveniently only blocks away). Dan has been helping a lot but it's still pretty stressful dealing with it all. At this point it's starting to feel manageable though. We've cleared out all the stuff that was in my parent's bedroom, except for some things in the closet.

Today Jim (Dan's dad) came over bringing 2 shelves and a bunch of boxes that we moved.
I also convinced Dan today to say farewell to his big, heavy, and starting to get thread-bare, white hide-a-bed couch. We used it in the dorm, & it worked quite nicely but with all the furniture we have (including another couch) it's one two many and one less heavy item to move. Ironically most of the big furniture now will be going upstairs- the bed (my parents' old bed we have permission to toss) a dresser and desk. We'll also have to move out the current dining rm table for Dan's which is a lot nicer. In fact since my parents have another we might be able to get rid of the old one.

Dan is going to move in on Sept 13, well before his lease ends at the end of September. The reason for this is Jim is borrowing his friend's trailer for hauling the furniture.
