It has been an artistically interesting couple weeks. My oven picked when I was curing my boy fairy to go with my frog fairy to die. i was just curing his hands so he was only supposed to be in there for 7 minutes. I checked at 3 and anywhere he wasn't touching poly fil he was a blackened bubbly mess. the poly fil had melted into the bottom of the pan and was literally on fire. Interesting thing I found out a couple days later that the couple that had loosely inspired them is calling it quite, they just don't want to be in the same piece anymore... But I digress, the oven temperature was 600! I had set it right but it just keeps getting hotter and hotter no matter what. Still waiting for a new one, it is a very odd size so a new one will mean either getting a whole new counter set up or a specially made oven. Thank heaven we are renting this house! I think it is supposed to be done next week.
SO I have not been able to use my usual media. i bought some paperclay and began working that over some hunks of wood I had collected on our travels, much to the protestation of Dalton I might add. It is a lot softer than polymer and I felt like I was working with my left hand or my feet trying to sculpt! And it is far messier for me, I ended up caked in drying paper clay. Like a swamp monster crusting over in the sun! But here are a couple of the things I have mostly completed, one is a fairy goddess wand, the other is a tree man (half)staff I have a mermaid full length staff I have just started.
