Not dead. Promise. I have kind of neglected LJ lately, but I still read it every day! Sad as it may be, I really do, though I now update my journal on deviantART far more often than this one.

Latest news:

• We have a temporary housemate, called Shaun (the female version) who's taken over Jimmy's room cause he had to leave early. She is doing some work for a lecturer on a project involving weasel dissection, as far as I can gather, and is here because she lived with Matt (father of Alice's baby, remember him?) in this house 2 years ago and called the landlady to ask if she knew of anywhere she could stay when her accomodation fell through. Shaun is lovely. Plus, we get her rent.
• I have been cleaning. SO. MUCH. CLEANING. Due to fact that the only one of my housemates able to be around to help me (the others being on mandatory trips to Germany and South Africa) is a bit of a useless shit and buggered off after cleaning only her own room, I have spent the last two days cleaning the spare room, the landing, the stairs, the hallway, all the windows, the pantry, the downstairs bathroom, the utility room and the kitchen to our landlady's extremely high standards. These involve doing all floor cleaning by hand - no mops - making sure there isn't a speck of dust on any surface - I half expect her to come round with a white cotton glove. My back hurts now. I waxed the floor tiles, for chrissakes. Philippa got back from Africa today, but I can't exactly ask her to help yet when she's just finished a 27 hour journey and is falling asleep over her food.
  
• I have been listening to Virgin radio all day while cleaning. Has anyone else noticed they play How to Save a Life a LOT.
• JUNEBALLOMG WAS AMAZING. I STOLE A FLEECE AND A CUSHION.
• I'm coming home Saturday afternoon, should all go to plan.
• When I get home, I will have no furniture. My mum has totally redecorated the house while I've been gone - carpets, skirtingboards, paint, the LOT - and got rid of my slightly grotty and childish furniture (except my lovely bed, my bed is heaven). She's waiting till I get back to choose my new furniture, so I have nothing to unpack INTO. Fab. All my belongings are in boxes in the conservatory.
• Thank god for 4od/iplayer. Our tv went away last saturday so they are all I have. I have watched the whole first series of Green Wing since then.
• I have watched Memoirs of a Geisha, and also read the book, and also seen all the special features and read about it on wikipedia. I'm still not totally sure how far is was based on a true story, if at all. There's probably some kind of lawsuit in it, I swear.
• I have a temp placement for when I get back already. On MONDAYWTF. Well, the training day is on Monday and the ther 5 days are absurdly randomly scattered over the next 3 weeks. It's at Skanska. Do we like Skanska?
• Izzi came to visit and we went to Hound, as shown by facebook photos. The weather in Durham decided it didn't like her however, and was horrible and cold the whole time. By the way, Izzi, the day after you left, it was 20+ degrees and sunny.
• Have new phone. Is sexy.
