So Keith...

Funny, I never had so many issues with co-workers until I moved to Fresno. *shakes head*

So, as soon as the shift started Keith just kinda went bye bye. I think, technically, he's still on the clock. He came back around 7pm for my break. I'd rather just work it but it's law. Blah blah...

I did write in the shift summery that Keith left and before he left he was working with a check in. Her room wasn't clean and she was waiting for her room. I didn't know this, and Keith just left without telling me or finishing this issue. So, yeah, I wrote about it in the shift summery. Partily because we need to keep track of any possible guests being upset, another part becuase, yeah, I hate the guy.

So, lunch I went to Trader Joe's then came back about 10 minutes before I went back on so I sat in back eating my sushi. Mmm...

And he comes back telling me not to write such things in the summery. I think I upset him when he's upset and I just nod and say "ok" without much conviction. I'm like, no phased when he's fuming and angry at me. But, I come back up, he's not at the front desk. A few minutes later he passes on by, I go "Hey, I'm back if you want to head... out...?"

I say that as he's passing through the lobby without looking at me and leaves the hotel, just like that. I think he was watching tv in the other room.

I look, and see he had a reservation up. I don't know if he made it as a walk in or a reservation. He tends to just put up the folio but neglects to actually check people into the system. Yeah, like I said, no front desk basics for Keith.

Oh, to top it off he tore out the shift summry, with my other daily notes on it besides that name and room number of that guest that had to wait around forever. I don't remember who it was.

I did try to sit down and talk to Keith on two seperate occations. I did that with Jay and now we get along pretty fine. But Keith, he talks AT you, not TO you. And he doesn't shut up to listen. At one point when I was trying to talk to him I was YELLING to get my point across because he wouldn't listen.

He doesn't like any employee at the hotel. He said so. He came IN not liking anyone. None of us did anything, I don't understand exactly what I did to upset him but he never liked me.

Funny that, apparently he works in some.. communication thing for abuse. Like, the skills to keep from fighting and keeping each other from beating each other up. Something like that. He gets prechy like that, too, about our personal lives when, first off he has no business, second, his advice sucks.

I'd be more than happy just to work with him, even if we don't have to like each other. I had a talk with Everette about that and I agree, we're both adults and should at least be able to put these things behind us and just do our job. I have been trying to do that, but then he keeps talking down to me, critisizing me, and then being a hypocrit and gets on the computer, watches tv for HOURS in the lobby, and sits in back and is on his phone either texting or talking.

I'm sure management is aware of at least some of these things, but I wonder what I should do. I don't want to be the squealer, but I do say 'yo I know I'm not perfect, but this dude is doing such and such when I know it's wrong.' They know I don't like him, but they also know I have the ability to put these things in the past, as with Jay.

Honestly, he's not doing his job, and he's mean to everyone.

Should I try to confront him again, maybe send him an e-mail or letter? Or should I just go right to Everette and Jay?
