Last night was hard for me. My 18 year old got mad at me and called me a f@#king B*tch. Funny thing is last night when he did it, I didn't cry, but today, all I could do was cry about it. I don't know what it is that he believes I have done to him, that would allow him the right to be so disrespectful to me, but after this latest episode I decide

He almost sounds to me like a 5-year-old who is desperately pushing the boundaries to see where they are. 5-year-olds, while saying they hate to be controlled - actually feel more secure when they know where the boundaries are.

Regardless - he's living in your home, correct? That is completely unacceptable. If he cannot treat you respectfully, he needs to find someplace else to live. He's 18. He needs to learn to control his temper. If he can't rein it in with you, what's he going to do when his girlfriend (or boyfriend, I suppose) makes him mad? He honestly sounds to me as if he's getting progressively more unstable.

no, he lives on the same street, but he lives with my mama and daddy. He moved in with them after John and I got married. It was under the thought that he'd get to have his own room and we still lived on the same street. etc,etc. Aaron asked and my parents though this would be good they had an extra room. He wouldn't have to share a room with his brother and them constantly fight. Where is that instruction manual again? It was a mistake that I can't correct now, it helped in all that has driven a wedge between us. I think he is not able to responsibly think for himself, but what can be done? That magic legal number 18. He's not crazy, just angry at the world I believe and he finds me an easy target.
