Distracting Beauty

I was staring at the moon on my way to my philosophy class. I wasn't sure it was full at first until I remembered it saying so on my calender. It attracted my attention more than the road did and my left tires spent a good amount of time on two yellow lines. Something like this happens every now and then. The last time I was driving across the Portland bridge, a rather skinny and dangerous bridge. At the height and position of the bridge, you're overlooking Middletown and are given a unique view of the horizon. It was stunning. The way all the colors meshed together to form something so beautiful left me transfixed. Even though the oncoming traffic was a mere yard away, nothing mattered at that moment except my view of that horizon. Moments like this make you wish you could paint...and/or have a camera on you. Another time I did have a camera on me and fortunately I wasn't driving. I really love the way sun rays escape through holes or gaps in the clouds while the edges of the clouds are illuminated. It's one of the few times you ever really get to see light from that sort of perspective. If there were no clouds, you would just see nothing, except the background of course. With the clouds though, seperate beams are formed and they shoot across the sky against the dark clouds creating one spectacular view. Sometimes when I'm bored I like to squint my eyes and look at some kind of light source. With your eye lids at the right position, you can see certain light beams, depending what kind of light you're looking at. I like when you can see the individual beams coming directly into your eyes. It's really neat. Here's that picture I took while I was a passenger.

Anyway, when I got to my school after staring at the full moon, the parking lot was completely empty. I drove down to the lower parking lot and it contained only 4 vehicles. I thought I might have been wrong about my spring break being next week, but after checking a calender I had in my backpack I was confused. Assuming there was no class, I went home. I still have no idea why no one was there, but I'm almost positive that my spring break isn't this week. I scheduled with my macroeconomics teacher to make up that quiz tomorrow. I wish it was Wednesday. I would rather miss economics than philosophy any day.
