sunday the 17th
okay every time i have a high energy day, its followed by a low energy day..so sunday i was tired-but had slept better and i really wasnt wanting to do anything at all, i just wanted to be left alone. so again i got up, used the bathroom as needed, and took a shower-the shower went better this time and i felt more cleansed. i had breakfast, two pancakes and some scrambled eggs and two milks. i ate half the food and drank all the milk. i walked 2 times and sat in my chair. i dozed, tried to watch tv but was just too tired. i got visited by various hospital personnel, who were checking my vitals. i was showing signs of a slight fever now and then so i had to keep doing the breathing exercises, but i dont think i ever got as high as l02 for a fever. my blood pressure would also vary from average to high. i tried to have some lunch, i ordered fruit cocktail, (i had had fruit cocktail the day before as well-i wasnt allowed fresh fruit which was what i was wanting), a half portion of meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy. i ate a forkful of the meatloaf and potatoes, and forced down the cup of fruit, and that was it i just couldnt eat more. i was just getting ready to send the tray back, and i decided i needed to move so i was also straightening the room to hsve something to do..and just at this point when i was about force myself to walk the halls a last time for the day...my family shows up. first it was my brother allen and my cousin kathy and her husband roger. they brought me a two pinkish red roses in a vase and some african violets, it was nice to see them but really, i was just wanting to be alone. we talked and i updated them and kathy commented on how warm the room was-i thought it had just been my fever and tiredness making me feel warm-turns out my room was up to 85 degrees. then shortly after that my cousin brent and his wife laurie and their little boy wesley joined us all. they brought me some orange roses in a vase and a card with a home-made verse in it, so again we were all visiting and i told brent about the bean-boozled jelly bellys i had gotten from michelle. then right after that my cousin jen and her mother kathy joined us all..so including myself there were 9 people in the room. okay i had lucked out and gotten a private room but it was small with only 3 chairs and i was sitting in one of them, and as i said the room was warm. adding to this everyone was getting very animated and i was trying to keep up, plus, once in a while, the nurse would stop in too. everyone was getting roused up because i had brent try the jelly bellys. these are special ones that include look-a-like beans so there were pairs of beans the same color but drastically different flavors and some of them were gross flavors. there was pencil shavings, vomit, moldy cheese, baby wipes, ear wax, etc. but they could also be nice fruity flavors-you couldnt tell which you were getting until you ate them. so my family was urging brent on while i was explaining all this and he was making lots of faces depending on what flavor he got. it was fun but god i was so tired. my faimly finally got the hint and started leaving by group. i sent some of the boxes of jelly bellys home with brent to try on other of our family members.. :) i made myself go for my last walk of the day and thankfully the nurse adjusted the temp in the room so i could feel cool..again i skipped supper and i didnt even attempt to eat the snack i ordered saturday. i just rested and watched tv, and dealt with my vitals being checked and getting my pain meds.
