And on the lazy days, the dogs dissolve and drain away

Art goal for the immediate future (e.g. the coming semester):
  • Practice rendering environments in pencil and ink. Doesn't luve make it look fun? Gosh her marks are just the prettiest.
  • Continue Weeklyish Watercolor Landscapes, with an eye to values, lighting, foliage, and texture.
  • Spend some time on the illustration course, or with Andrew Loomis, at least one day a week.
Hokay, I count myself satisfied.

- It's going to be a bit of a mad semester, really! I didn't expect to be taking classes again after the travesty of last spring, but Martin's ecology seminar sounds irresistible, so there will be that, on top of taking the teaching course and TAing the undergrad seminar. Normally I would expect TAing to take up as much time as one-and-a-half classes, but I expect this one should be much less bad - no weekly grading, mostly just sitting in on lectures and brainstorming the material in advance of the workshops, and then meeting with the students as the semester progresses. In fact it should really be about equivalent to my normal writing lab hours, which is of course the point. I'm afraid reading for the other classes will definitely pile up, though...

about that art thing, work
