A strange thought occurred to me today. Oddly enough I was thinking about a will and what I would put in it. It's interesting to think of what of your belongings you would want to give to whom. This got me wondering why we value things as much as we do. I also realized how much I rely on technology. There are things like my computer, cell phone ( Read more... )

Got the projects done, but not in time. Oh well. I'll probably have to save my good times up for the end of the quarter.

Rock! I totally think you should... hold a chess tournament that is, not die or give up all your stuff. I had a similiar experience a couple months ago when I wrote my will. Only I found out I didn't have much of traditional value, and was giving away stuff like teapots. Yeesh.

Was I in your will? j/k mostly. you're right, though, it is strange to think of the most precious things are not of as much material value. For instance, One would have to be very highly regarded to get the Orange Hippo.

If most of us were as honest with ourselves as you are, we'd all have to admit we rely far too much on technology. Truly the most valuable things are what we cannot physically will to another person. Hugs. Love. Friendship. Memory making. I've gradually been ripping myself away more and more from the computer (it eats my soul sometimes, truly). Good luck with your journey. Best wishes with your new position, also.

P.S.--You have no idea how long it took me to figure out who this is! Your hippo finally gave it away, I think. Hooray.
