Thanks to all my friends and other guests that helped make the Sixth Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball a success. The early figures show that we at least have equaled last year's tally. Thank you all. These funds are much needed to fight the AIDS epidemic around the world. Together, we can lend a hand to local governments to help the victims of this horrible disease as well as their families.
We live in a world where we are bombarded by statistics. I believe the following helps bring home the true horror of HIV/AIDS.
Can you imagine 30 jumbo jets crashing every day with a total of 8,000 dead? That is what AIDS means in pure statistics. It is because of these terrible statistics that the Elton John AIDS Foundation exists. Thank you once again for helping us achieve our mission.
