College life.
So I'm back here, moved into my dorm, and trying not to freak out. It's been intense and I'm still getting used to being back in the city. I feel like it's still vacation and I don't actually live here yet. Granted I got in yesterday, drove straight to my dorm, unpacked a little, slept for a couple hours and then went out with Azz...around the corner and today I slept till 1.30, went shopping with the girls in close proximity to the dorm and then went to dinner uptown....but still I feel like I'm not really BACK here yet.
By "the girls" I mean, of course, Roneet Kacy and Ashley whose room I actually live in. Let's take just a moment to acknowledge that I live in the same building and on the same floor as them. It was a whole semester last year of wishing that was the case and now....winner. I love this building, I love those girls, I love this city (...well, I learn to love it again, right now I'm nervous about it), I love it all. I'm so happy I'm back with these kids and, shockingly, I'm ready to start classes again and just settle in to life here again.
Tonight Roneet and I went to dinner at Sister Virginia's apartment. Sister V is head of religious life on campus and she had the heads of all the religious groups over to meet each other and do some planning for some interfaith activities that will hopefully happen soon. I'd met her once before so it was great to meet her, meet everyone else and it gave Ro and me the kick in the ass we need to get Hillel from a fun idea to a real thing that, ya know, happens.
That's about it for now. I'm using internet in the girls' room since I don't have it up and running in mine yet. More later. Bye kiddies.
