Random acts of blindness

Well, I've told all you kids about my job, at the fibre-glass insulation manufacturing plant with the pain and the glass shards in my skin...
On Wednesday, while I was at work, at about 2:15pm I was walking up to replace one of my coworkers so that he could go on break when I suddenly felt a sharp stinging sensation in my right eye. I immediately ran over to an emergency eyewash station and proceeded to flush my eye with water. After about five minutes a Jamaican dude with whom I am acquainted, named Eddie (who looks and dances around like Eddie from Tekken 3), came over and inquired as to whether flushing my eye had been successful. Upon informing him of the fact that the structural integrity of my ocular apparatus had been compromised and that I had been unable to discern any benefit from the cleansing process, he went to inform our supervisor, during which time I continued to rinse my eye for another 15-20 minutes. When said time had elapsed the plant's safety manager drove me to the E.R. at the Ottawa General Hospital.
After waiting for what felt like an interminably long time I was seen by the residing physician.
She determined that there was a piece of glass lodged on my sclera. She applied a local anesthetic and removed the offending material, however an infection had already set in. An appointment with the Eye Institute was then set for the next day.
Following another appointment I had scheduled for the next morning, I Dana Fox to drive me in to the Eye Institute for my appointment at 12:45am. I was fully registered and in the waiting room by 12:30, and after another ridiculously long wait I was finally seen by a doctor at 2:45pm. They ran a long battery of tests on my eyes which included fully dilating my pupils. Thankfully my eye had already healed itself from the glass, there did not seem to be any other fragments left in my eye, and the infection was already in remission.
Many of you already know how light sensitive my eyes are... because of the tests my eyes were burning from any light exposure for hours. I was only able to open my eyes, indoors, at approximately to 7pm, and was only able to see properly outdoors at around 8:30pm.
Unfortunately, either because of the healing process, or due to the tests that were performed on my eyes, their light sensitivity has seemed to increase. I hope this is simply a short term effect since I already have to wear tinted glasses 24/7.
That evening I also got contacted by the company which had interviewed me earlier that day and I was hired for a new job.
I am never going back to the fibre-glass plant.
