An update on my condition....

Hey Kids, I just got back from seeing Dr. Kent. I got lots more painkillers and antibiotics. The antibiotics are because the doctor is slightly worried about the possibility of infection since my body may be rejecting the screw. (The surgeon in Verdun [the hospital in Mtl.] was apparently amazing there was only 1 set of stitches. The doctor at Carleton U and I were both very impressed.) I was right though, my bones are still indestructible and fine, ie. no damage even with the ligaments tearing off (because they are attached directly to the bone.) It was a really bad dislocation of my tibia and fibula and therefore no more ligaments.... although if my bones were weak and broke easily there would be less possible permanent damage.... funny that, huh? (It's because bones heal more easily than ligaments and if the bones broke there would be more give. If there is more give, physical stresses can be dispersed quickly; basic structural engineering.) I have another appointment next week, then I get to go see an orthopedic surgeon to get the screw removed if it's healing well in about 4 weeks. Then physio at the Carleton Sports Therapy Centre. I'll be needing a cane to walk for a while. It may be a year before I am 100% again. I almost forgot I was also informed that the constant pain will only get worse for the next while because as the nerves reattach themselves and I heal they will be firing uncontrollably...

The X-rays will be posted eventually as will the description of what exactly happened...
