Concerts

are something I live for, but since last summer I have only been to one concert. I am really lucky for where I live, because a lot of bands come though Norfolk or Va Beach, and a lot go through Richmond. I have also made the occasional three hour drive to Raleigh to see a band. So when I left for college last August, I did not realize how lucky I was back in Hampton. It sucked so many times because I would look at my favorite concert venues site, and all of the bands I wanted to see did not play on my breaks. This past January I missed the Dresden Dolls by a day, classes started the day of the concert. When I think about the sheer number of bands I missed, I cry on the inside. I figured once I was back home for the summer, I would be going to tons of concerts. Well that theory has been wrong so far. I have had opportunities, but I either have to work because no-one can cover me or my friends cannot come with. I was planning on seeing MGMT on the 29th, but the person would be able to cover for me is on vacay that week. Sometimes I feel there need to be more people at my work, instead of Desiree, Kaitlynne and me. I am already planning some weekend trips to the Raleigh/Durham area just to get some life into myself. Magnetic Fields are going to playing in October and if I have to miss some classes that following Monday I will. The Black Keys are playing next month at the Norva, so I hope to see them because I think the show is on a Saturday and my boo can some with. I am also planning trips to Richmond, to see some bands and also to see my boo. Hopefully I can get back into my concert going ways, since I only saw PlayRadioPlay! (which I loved every minute of) in Greensboro during Easter Break.
